    Bit to Do

    Faith County

Head out to the country and say hello to the folks of Faith Countty and An Evening of Culture, which opens at Clarksville Little Theatre on Friday.

Faith County and An Evening of Culture will be performed on Nov. 4, 5, 10, 11, and 12 at 8 p.m. each night.  A matinee show, meanwhile, will go on Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.  All performances will take place at Clarksville Little Theatre, located at 301 East Montgomery Ave. in Clarksville, IN.

Tickets for each show depend on the age.  Adult tickets are $15 per person, seniors 60 years of age and above are $12 per person, students aged 13-18 are also $12 per person, and children aged 6-12 are $8 per person.  Tickets can be purchased via cash or check at the door.  More information can be found by calling Clarksville Little Theatre at 812-283-6522.

Faith County and An Evening of Culture is essentially two related shows in one.  Faith County centers on fierce competition in the arts and crafts category at the county fair.  Contestants include Mildred's ceramic recreation of The Last Supper, Ruthann's cake made with rum, trendy hair styling from Naomi, and creative toilet seat covers from Violet.  Love is also set to bloom during the fair.

Faith County II: An Evening of Culture finds the down home Mineola County gang putting on its community theatre version of Romeo and Juliet.  The show will go on, no matter what it takes, despite no one in the cast knowing their lines, an unfinished set, and a dog barking nearby.

Ron Johnson directed Faith County and An Evening of Culture.

The cast includes Cindy Smith as Mildred, Adrielle Perkins as Faye McFaye, Emily Miller as Ruthann Barns, Pamela Slack as Naomi, Kevin Bowling as Delbert, Luke Aaron as Luther Carson, Sara Renauer as Violet, Janet Popp as Gladys, and Andrew McGill as Bubba Bedford.

Following Faith County, Clarksville Little Theatre will present On Golden Pond.  Auditions for the show are on Nov. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. each night, and the show will take place in January 2012.  More information can be found at the Clarksville Little Theatre website.
