We see you appreciate a good vintage. But there comes a time to try something new. Click here to head over to the redesigned Louisville.com. It's where you'll find all of our latest work. And plenty of the good ol' stuff, too, looking better than ever.

    Bit to Do

Being Jewish at Christmastime can make you feel like a salmon swimming upstream. Cups of pumpkin and cinnamon eggnog clink merrily with holiday carols pealing, Christmas lights go up around your house, Nativity scenes decorate street corners. From car radios and shopping mall speakers, Mariah Carey cajoles Yuletide shoppers. But this salmon is here to tell you about a new kind of tradition.

And for all you fellow Jewish ladies out there, what could be better than an afternoon spent around decadent chocolate? I'll tell you- very few things. Choose chocolate.

Chocolatey Exhibit A. Mini Opera: A beautiful combo of almond, coffee, and chocolate ganache flavors.

Hadassah is "the largest women's, largest Zionist, and largest Jewish membership organization in the United States," and there is a Louisville chapter. Hadassah National Vice President Mindy Bloom sends out a fabulous invite to you for An Afternoon of Chocolate and Inspiration at Ghyslain in Westport Village. The only cost is whatever guests decide to individually purchase for food and drinks (of which there is a terrific assortment at Ghyslain).

This Sunday, November 17 at 3:30 p.m., I will be eagerly attending the professional chocolate demonstration. As a self-professed chocoholic optimist, I am highly anticipating this event.
