Don’t you just love how cool Louisville is? We have the best of so many worlds – great art, spectacular food… We just keep getting more and more attention for all the passion that floats around our city, and our dining scene is truly flourishing. There are several chefs to thank for this, and one in particular is John Varanese, the executive chef and owner of Varanese Restaurant on Frankfort Avenue. His passion for local products is remarkable, his food is delicious, and his professionalism and work ethic have earned him so much peer respect that he will be included in the 1st edition of Best Chefs America!
Best Chefs America is a Charleston, South Carolina-based annual publication devoted to showcasing America’s most influential and respected chefs. Every chef included has been nominated by his or her peers (other chefs, food service workers, and/or foodies) and thoroughly interviewed. The website (www.bestchefsamerica.com) said that they are self-published and that copies are expected to be ready for sale early this year (likely March 1st). Chef Varanese and his restaurant will be profiled.
