I first came across Garden & Gun magazine in a doctor’s office and thought, like everyone else that comes across that title, what a weird combination for a magazine. The title is incredibly misleading. Consider it a hipper and more aesthetically beautiful Southern Living. Garden & Gun’s website explains it like this, “Garden & Gun is an idea about how to live — how to live a life that is more engaged with the land, the literature, the music, the arts, the traditions, the food, and the authenticity that has shaped the Southern way of life.”
In Garden & Gun’s June/July 2012 issue, readers voted Louisville’s famous Cave Hill Cemetery as one of the best “Pit Stops” for their Southern Roads feature. So, if you’re in the Highlands, be nice to all the out of town guests that will be headed our way this summer.
Also, Cave Hill Cemetery is hosting a Twilight Tour this Sunday, June 3rd from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Rides will be given through the grounds by hay wagon. RSVP by calling 502-451-5630. Cost: $35 per person. All proceeds benefit the Cave Hill Heritage Foundation.
