Just last fall, the University of Louisville enrolled a record-breaking number of freshman students, which isn’t surprising considering what the beautiful campus has to offer students. The recently established Cardinal Towne student housing and restaurants, the new recreation center which features countless types of workout equipment and an indoor track, and not to mention the off-campus attractions available to students like events at the KFC Yum! Center and 4th Street Live. It’s undeniable that Louisville is a great city to live in while earning your degree, so why not celebrate it!
And that’s just what local musician Jecorey “1200” Arthur and Cardshirt Company President Bob Muntis thought of when developing the concept behind their brand new music and arts festival which they have just announced today: CARDS Fest.
The idea of CARDS Fest came about when the two creative minds, who have both attended the university, wanted to put together a back-to-school block party during the first week of U of L’s fall semester. Their simple idea soon became what will be the University of Louisville’s biggest campus event ever.
Word on the street is that the festival will showcase tons of food from Louisville’s best local restaurants and display some of the city’s best local musical talent. And with Arthur and Muntis running the festival, anything is possible.
The slogan for the festival has been declared, “Students rallying together to celebrate the Louisville community.” And in true Louisville fashion, a block party full of original food from all over the city, a long list of performers and thousands in attendance is the perfect way to celebrate our beautifully exciting and ever-growing city.
So go ahead and mark your calendars because the first ever CARDS Fest is scheduled for August 29th from 5pm – 10pm and will be held on the University of Louisville’s campus at the Red Barn, West Patio and West Lawn. More information regarding the festival’s lineup and ticket sales will be coming very soon! Follow them on Twitter for exclusive updates @CardsFest!
