On Saturday, Louisville was still trying to recover from their upset loss from last week against Central Florida, as the Cards went to Tampa to play the Bulls of South Florida.
Almost immediately following the kickoff, the Cards reminded everybody of their strengths, managing to take out the South Florida Bulls with an air assault led by quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater. The final score was 34-3. This makes the Cardinal's current record 7-1 and 3-1 in conference.
The Cards will continue their in-conference work as they square off against Connecticut Friday night 8:30, the game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
UConn has become an annual matchup for the Cards dating back to their time in the Big East, and on Friday they will be coming off ironically a loss of their own to Central Florida from Saturday. In fact the Huskies have yet to find a victory this season, as their current record is at 0-7.
Meanwhile, Western Kentucky had their own battle at home on Saturday, where the Toppers came up just short of defeating Troy with a final score of 32-26. The Toppers have been hit or miss this season; and Petrino’s boys have had some difficulties but have shown their talent on many occasions as well. Currently the team is .500 with a record of 4-4. They're preparing for a trip to Atlanta on Saturday to take on Georgia State for a game scheduled to kick off at Noon.
