The title may be difficult, but the concept isn’t. Beginning this Thursday, Finnigan Productions embarks on a celebration of everything local.

The festival is composed of ten original scripts from local writers, directed by ten local, yet highly visible, directors, including Michael Drury of Pandora Productions, Kathi E.B. Ellis of StageLab, and Tad Chitwood from Necessary Theatre.

And the actors? Yep. They’re locals too.

If you’re looking for serious drama, go somewhere else. The scripts here encompass everything from a transvestite chicken and a man who confesses to seeing and hearing a singing frog to a speedy look at speed dating.

Finnigan’s Festival of Funky Fresh Fun is for adults only. It runs April 14-23 at 7:30pm at the Rudyard Kipling, 422 W. Oak Street. Come for dinner and stay for the show. Tickets are $12.00 and can be reserved by calling 502.636.1311.

    About Michelle Rynbrandt

Before landing in the Possibility City, Michelle toured the country performing in various regional theatres. Having been there and done that, she can honestly say that Louisville's cultural opportunities are second to none.
