The title may be difficult, but the concept isn’t. Beginning this Thursday, Finnigan Productions [4] embarks on a celebration of everything local.
The festival is composed of ten original scripts from local writers, directed by ten local, yet highly visible, directors, including Michael Drury of Pandora Productions [5], Kathi E.B. Ellis of StageLab [6], and Tad Chitwood from Necessary Theatre [7].
And the actors? Yep. They’re locals too.
If you’re looking for serious drama, go somewhere else. The scripts here encompass everything from a transvestite chicken and a man who confesses to seeing and hearing a singing frog to a speedy look at speed dating.
Finnigan’s Festival of Funky Fresh Fun is for adults only. It runs April 14-23 at 7:30pm at the Rudyard Kipling [8], 422 W. Oak Street. Come for dinner and stay for the show. Tickets are $12.00 and can be reserved by calling 502.636.1311.
