The Clifton Center will host a special classical guitar concert this Friday night featuring Brazilian-born brothers Sergio and Odair Assad.

The brothers, who come from a family with strong musical influences, began playing the guitar at a young age, training with some of the best guitarists in South America.

They’ve received stellar reviews for performances in the U.S. The Washington Post described them as “the best two guitar team in existence,” while a review in the Columbus Dispatch following a performance last month said, “They play with a deep intuition of each other’s playing, and they led the audience on a journey to music not commonly heard in a classical concert.”

The duo has worked with such renowned artists at Yo-Yo Ma, Nadja Salemo-Sonnenberg, Paquito D’Rivera, Gidon Kremer and Dawn Upshaw.

The concert is part of the “MINI of Louisville LIVE at the Clifton Center” series and will be held in the Clifton Center’s unique vintage Eifler Theatre.  The show is set for Friday, November 9th at 8:00pm. Tickets are available at cliftoncenter.org or at Carmichael’s Bookstore on Frankfort Avenue.
