Brass auditions to be held for Louisville Youth Orchestra
    Print this page

On Sunday, January 27, the Louisville Youth Orchestra will be holding auditions for anyone who plays the trombone, trumpet, tuba, and French horn. According to their website, all brass players of any age are encouraged to audition. Normally, an audition fee applies. The fee has been waived for this special audition for the Spring 2013 semester.

I had the privilege of attending a concert put forth by the LYO. My daughter, who plays violin, accompanied me to the concert and we were both very impressed. I am highly encouraged by the existence of the Louisville Youth Orchestra in our city and hope to investigate it further next year for my daughter. It sounds like a wonderful opportunity; I have a friend whose daughter played for LYO who gave me rave reviews herself. Seek them out if you have a student who plays.

The auditions will begin at 5:30pm and are being held at the Youth Performing Arts School. YPAS is located at 1517 S. Second Street near the University of Louisville's campus.

Sign-up is required to audition; please contact Melody Welsh-Buchholz at 502-896-1851 or e-mail info@lyo.org
