If you are not a river rat or a fitness fanatic, how do you spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Louisville? The Monkey Wrench in the Highlands is proving to be the prime spot from 1-4 P.M. for bottomless mimosas and brunch. A newly renovated tiki themed rooftop deck is one of the unique features at this bar and restaurant, and is the place to be on any low humidity Sunday like today.
Menu items include the signature Mimosa Brunch, consisting of all the mimosas you can drink and your choice of any brunch item for $22. If drinking several glasses of champagne and OJ doesn't fit into your Sunday plans, then try just stopping in for a bite. Options include but aren't limited to, the Breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese, Homemade Biscuits and Gravy (vegetarian gravy available too) or a French toast casserole, topped with bourbon whipped cream may better suit you for only $8, the price for any brunch item on the menu. I have tried several of these brunch delicacies and you cannot go wrong with any of them . The chef Francie Wilder is a personal friend of mine and has never cooked a meal for me that I didn't like. You will thank yourself for not going to the trouble of making scrambled eggs and toast at home. Make sure to fit the Monkey Wrench into your weekend plans, especially on one of these beautiful summer or fall days.
