As a foodie, I’m always being asked about the best thing I’ve eaten lately or if I could recommend a restaurant. I love these requests but I thought it would be fun to share my Louisville food adventures with everyone. So every Sunday I will share the best bite I’ve had the past week.
This week’s best bite goes to Wiltshire Pantry’s smoked turkey breast sandwich. It’s made of Marksbury Farms turkey on buttermilk oatmeal bread with apple butter, sharp cheddar and Bibb lettuce. This sandwich had me at apple butter. After the first bite, I was completely hooked. The tender turkey mixed with the tart, sweetness of the apple butter is pure perfection. The best way to describe it is a holiday meal on a sandwich.
I ordered the soup and 1/2 sandwich for $9. Although the soups are phenomenal, I highly recommend ordering the whole sandwich for $9.50. Trust me you’ll not regret getting the whole thing. I’m still grieving over it.
The smoked turkey breast sandwich with apple butter is on Wiltshire’s Fall/Winter menu so if you want this holiday party in your mouth go for a visit now. Plus, this bakery is a cozy place to have lunch and they have many delicious treats to satisfy any sweet tooth.
