Embrace the hilarity of love and lies in The Importance of Being Earnest, which features two love stories and one person named Ernest. That is, if Ernest actually existed. It's actually the name of an imaginary, wicked brother John has made up as a reason to leave his home many times. It's also the name he'll use to win the heart of Gwendolen, who believes that name to be one of certainty and assurance.
Meanwhile, John's close friend Algernon has also taken the name Ernest after falling in love with Cecily, who finds the brother John described as mysterious and endearing.
Oscar Wilde created The Importance of Being Earnest, and the production is considered to be one of his best-known. Gary Tipton directed the show for As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company.
