Go back to the days of the answering service for the romantic comedy Bells Are Ringing, which As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company will present starting this weekend.

Bells Are Ringing will take place on Nov. 22, 23, 29, and 30 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees are to happen on Nov. 21 and Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances are to occur in the Mex Theater at Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 W Main Street in downtown Louisville.

Tickets for the all-ages romantic comedy are $16 per person. All tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling the box office at 800-775-7777.

Back before the days of the Internet, answering machines, and even TV, there was the Susanswerphone, a telephone answering service that included a lady, Ella, who listened in on people's conversations. When Ella is asked by a client, Jeff, to help battle his writer's block, Ella agrees. A romance brews but faces challenges like trying to fit in and people thinking the answering service is a front for something more.

Adolph Green and Betty Comden created the book and lyrics for Bells Are Ringing with music from Jule Styne. For As Yet Unnamed, Sandy Richens Cohrs directed the production.

More information on the show can be found on the As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company Facebook page.
