Have you ever wondered what it would be like to party with the mythbusters? If you were at the Kentucky Center last night for the Behind the Myths Tour, you certainly don’t have to wonder any more!

Stars of the hit Discovery Channel television show, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage put on an explosive live show Tuesday night filled with fun, science, and comedy. Fans were treated to behind-the-scenes footage, on-stage experiments, and a question and answer session with each mythbuster.

Before the show and during the set changes, exclusive videos were shown of explosions, extra footage, and even a tour of M5 Industries, where Mythbusters is filmed. The mythbusters brought quite a few lucky fans on-stage for their experiments, which included everything from testing the strength of a phonebook to showcasing the wonders of their high-speed cameras. During the question and answer session, Hyneman talked about his love for berets and his Midwestern upbringing on a farm in Indiana while Savage spoke of his near-death drowning experience during one of the show’s more tense episodes.

Throughout the show, the elements of Mythbusters that have made it a joy to watch for the past twelve years were definitely present. A diverse crowd proved that mythbuster science holds a little something for everyone. Even Jamie Hyneman commented on the fact that the crowd was full of people of different ages, genders, and ethnicities. Adam Savage left this crowd with a bit of wisdom. He said that scientific discovery doesn’t always have a “eureka” moment; it’s usually more of a “huh, that’s funny” moment. What a great way to inspire the audience, with so many children present, to wonder, to experiment, and to discover the world around them.

This marks the second time in the past 5 years that Savage and Hyneman have brought their Behind the Myths Tour to Louisville. Don’t miss the opportunity next time! In the meantime, you can follow Jamie Hyneman on Twitter at @jamienotweet and Adam Savage at @donttrythis.
