Just in time for Halloween, Howell Dawdy, Louisville's synth rapper in jest, is warning us of everything scary and according to the music video he released on Tuesday, everything is scary except for him.

The song is called "Scary," (WATCH HERE) the 12th video Howell Dawdy has done. Alex Smith, the man behind the character, seems to treat Dawdy character a similar way Stephen Colbert treats the character on his show by mean mugging to the camera and being super serious when he raps in hyperbole or in comedy.

The character is always intriguing but the music is nothing to laugh about. It's has great electro beats that cater exactly to the tempo and theme of the lyrics. This excellent synth work is not a surprise coming from a guy who leads another terrific group in Lydia Burrell.

The video for "Scary" looks like a homemade Armageddon warning video--strobe lights, guys armed with numchucks and paintball gear, vintage news video of an impending doom, filmed partially in a basement. It even features a verse from local electro-punk rapper Ultra Pulverize.

For more music and video from Howell Dawdy, check out his Bandcamp and YouTube (FestBurg Productioning) page.

Howell Dawdy was recently nominated for Song of the Year at the Louisville Music Awards for "Fire Extinguisher."
