Monday morning, Crush Boutique in Middletown opened a pop-up shop at The Summit Lifestyle Center, Crush on Derby, located between Kay Jewelers and Versona Accessories. The 2,500-square-foot boutique will be open through May 15, and will have on-hand coveted pieces from local and national designers for shoppers to pour over as Kentucky Derby 139 and the festivities surrounding the “fastest two minutes in sports” draw closer. Crush on Derby also serves to bring Derby and Oaks goers to the East End shopping center, allowing for The Summit to act as a one-stop shop for research, planning and purchasing the perfect ensemble.

Debbie Russell, owner of the pop-up boutique, says Crush on Derby offers “fresh, unique apparel and accessories featuring not only nationally recognized lines, but also local up and coming designers.” Russell also said that the boutique orders limited quantities from each designer, as well as work with local milliners to ensure that every piece her customers purchase instill the confidence in knowing that what they wear to Derby is special and one-of-a-kind. Dresses from Julie Brown, Tracy Negoshian, Judith March, Hazel and Joy Joy are available, alongside hats by local millineries Jana’s Hat Box, Anita Hat Company and HEADcANDI, and national names Toucan, Scala and Giovannio. W&M Custom Jewelry, Lulubelles and Vineyard Vines are the local artisans providing accessories for both men and women, from gorgeous necklaces and bracelets to colorful belts and bowties.

Crush on Derby is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. The pop-up boutique will be open from April 1 until May 15. Crush Boutique will also have many of the pieces sold by the aforementioned designers at their main store at 12123 Shelbyville Road, Suite 102 in Middletown, open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The main boutique is not open on Sundays.
