Art Eatables, Bourbon Barrel Foods Both Runners Up In Southern Living Food Awards

Every year, Southern Living magazine asks for the best of the best foods made in America for their annual Food Awards.  Each product is judged on taste appeal (70%), story of product (15%), and presentation (15%).  The best of the best are chosen from multiple categories.  Not surprisingly, this year many of the winning and runner-up products had bourbon in them in some fashion.

Art Eatables, Louisville’s own handmade bourbon truffles, was one of the runner-up products chosen for the 2015 Southern Living Food Awards.  Each truffle is made by hand in a little shop on Fourth Street.  Cocoa is matched to each individual type of bourbon for a perfect pairing.

Bourbon Barrel Foods’ Woodford Reserve Bourbon Smoked Chef’s Spice Blend was also chosen as a 2015 Southern Living Food Awards runner-up.  Bourbon Barrel Foods is located in Butchertown, but there is also a new store open on Frankfort Avenue.  This company is doing amazing things with used bourbon barrels.

Congratulations to these two awesome Louisville companies, and thank you for your continued contributions to bourbonism!
