The Summit will usher in holiday spirit at its signature holiday event “Lights Up” on Friday, Nov. 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on The Terrace. The annual event is free to attend and attracts families from all over Louisville. The North Oldham Little League All Star team has been selected for the honor of turning on The Summit’s holiday lights and kicking off the fireworks show. The team represented the region at the 65th Little League World Series this past summer. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Northeast Christian Church will provide live music entertainment with a concert including contemporary takes on holiday music classics. Santa Claus will make his grand entrance at approximately 7 p.m. For more information, please visit http://www.thesummitonline.com/louisville/events/.

The Lights Up event will feature a baseball theme with a special appearance from Buddy Bat. In addition to interacting with our special guests, families will have the opportunity to participate in several games and children’s activities with prizes and giveaways including a prize wheel, pitching machine and a live ice-carving demonstration. Santa will also be available for complimentary professional photos with families between Mitchell’s Fish Market and Martini Italian Bistro. Patrons are urged to arrive early and enter from the Springdale Rd. entrance near the GAP for easier parking.

“The Summit is a magical place during the holidays and events like Lights Up at The Summit have become holiday traditions for so many families in Louisville,” said Becky Norton, general manager of The Summit. “Since its opening 10 years ago, The Summit has become a gathering place for Kentucky and Indiana families during the holiday season.”

Once again, The Summit has pulled out all the stops for customers this holiday with extended hours, enticing shopping offers, a free customer shuttle and security escort services. Beginning on Black Friday, Nov. 25, The Summit will offer extended holiday shopping hours on select days in November and December. The Guest Services office will also be open for extended hours during this time to accommodate shoppers who need assistance or are interested in purchasing gift cards. The Summit’s Cards for a Cause program benefits either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society. At no additional cost to customers, five percent of the card’s value will be donated to the Louisville chapter of the selected charity. About Roxane Haynes

I am a working mother of four kids, age five and under, this includes two singletons and a set of twins. When I say working, I mean that I stay at home with them, but work my butt off to take care of them and get the "usual" things done for our home. I also help my husband with our business when I can. B.K. (before kids) I worked in the Human Resource field. Stay At Home Mom is by far my favorite career choice to date.
