The Love Album, live on stage at Abbey Road on the River
    Print this page

Fans of The Beatles are well immersed in Abbey Road on the River this Memorial Day weekend, yet a royal treat lies in store for fans of Love.   Abbey Road on the River has recreated the album, live on stage with three of the better known Beatle tribute bands in the country.

BritBeat, from Chicago Illinois is a fan favorite at Abbey Road with period costumes to recreate The Beatles Anthology, including those flamboyant costumes from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.    The Newbees, from Cincinnati, Ohio will join in on the Love with their passion for the Beatles’ deep cuts, and strings to heighten the experience.  All You Need is Love is an Abbey Road on the River favorite and brings the experience of 18 Abbey Road on the Rivers with them from Belleville, Ontario.

The Love Album event at Abbey Road is now one of the most popular events of the festival.  First thought to be an impossible task, Gary Jacob, the producer of Abbey Road on the River, would not let up and he found a way to make it happen.  Within a few months, the music was re-worked, the musicians were on board, and Love would be.  For 2012, Gary enlisted the aid of Rachel Blanton, Kevin Ashba, and Jessie Jordan to bring Love to fruition.

Love is the latest release of music recorded by The Beatles, released in 2006 and the Grammy winning soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show of the same name.  Produced by George Martin and his son, Giles, Love features 130 individual Beatles recordings, remixed to a soul filled album.  Abbey Road on the River is the only festival to share Love, live, thus making this a truly unique experience for the Beatles fan.

Love is scheduled to begin at 7pm, lasting an approximate 2 hours on the Lawn Stage on the Belvedere on Saturday, May 26. Share the Love, be the Love.
