Ever find yourself aimlessly browsing online for the perfectly unique item that you’ll be able to gift to a friend or perhaps keep for yourself once you stumble across it at a 1 a.m. spur of the moment shopping spree? Etsy serves as the perfect market to find just about anything and everything you never knew you couldn’t live without. Louisville has created quite the creative Etsy community and I’m here to shed some light on the virtual shops that put a whole new spin on "shopping local."

    Awesome by Jenna

Why have a boring old tea towel sadly hanging on your oven when you could have one that reads “Get Lucky” embroidered under the ole Kentucky home. And did I mention it’s “lent free and wonderfully absorbant." Designs also include the popular “Haters Gonna Hate,” and “Bourbon is a Food Group.” There’s really no better way to add some sass to your kitchen than with one of these wonderfully wordy towels.

    ReWicked Candles

This shop takes recycling a wine night’s worth of bottles to a whole new level. ReWicked candles are hand-crafted, upcycled soy candles made from recycled local Old 502 Winery wine bottles that you can completely customize from the style of the bottle to the fragrance of the candle. And if the environmentally friendly gesture isn’t enough, $1 of each candle purchase is donated to the Clean Ocean’s Project in effort to keep our oceans clean of plastic pollution. Cheers to that!

    CanlinGifts

Any Mint Julep or Oaks Lily would fill right at home resting on these one of a kind coasters sporting a variety of derby silks.

    Miss Happy Pink

These cool prints are made with a very special secret ingredient: bourbon. These special prints have Kentucky Straight Bourbon mixed into the ink! Check out more of Miss Happy Pink’s prints including hand pulled screen printed card stock on her website

    What the Print

There’s no better way to pledge your love for the Bluegrass state than with a throw pillow, right? Well this Etsy shop is chock-full of Kentucky pride and excellent interior taste. While you’re there be sure to check out the other prints that pack a punch in home decor.

    Sycamore Hill

These vintage, sterling silver plate iced teaspoons have your favorite cocktail recipes stamped right into them. Genius, right? From Mojitos to Bloody Marys to Mint Juleps, there’s no way to go wrong with these practical party starters.
