    Bit to Do

While I believe Louisville is graced with many beautiful and exciting things to share with my out of town friends, my biggest source of pride comes from our food scene and culture. It's the reason I became interested in writing about food.

It's also why I think an event like Taste of Frankfort Avenue is a no brainer. On top being able to sample from twenty of Frankfort Avenue's best eateries, it raises funds for a beloved and local community space. The Clifton Center has been home to some many incredible community events and gatherings for people from all walks of life. It is an accessible space for citizens, nonprofits, faith based groups to use to educate, entertain, and communicate to their fellow Louisvillians. I know this because I live down the street and I see it in action, often.

Participating restaurants include local favorites like Varanese, Coal's Artisan Pizza, Volare, Bourbon's Bistro, and The North End Cafe. This year will also feature Four Sisters, the creperie that moved into what was formerly Zen Tea House. I was also pleased to see Morels, The Vegan Butcher on the line up.  Furthermore, it's good that there's a range of restaurants from fine dining to your every day sandwich shop. If you are new to Louisville, this is a great event to establish your favorite neighborhood haunts.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 on the day of the event. They can be purchased at Cliftoncenter.org or Carmichael's Bookstore on Frankfort Avenue.

More information can be found here.

If you're gonna eat, eat for something of great value for our community. I hope I see you there.
