107.7 SFR, along with Knob Creek Gun Range and the Doo Wop Shop, will present WINGFEST 2011 this Sunday from 1-7 PM at Phoenix Hill Tavern.
This indoor/outdoor, rain or shine, “families welcome” public event in its third year will take special notice of local firefighters, police and EMT’s this year in observance of the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Festivities will include a wing eating challenge between local firefighters, first responders as emcees, and a free wing sampling passport for the first 100 police, firefighters, or EMTs in attendance.
The event will include a $5 wing sampling (featuring selections from Buffalo Wild Wings, AP Crafters, Shack in the Back, Kilimanjaro Foods Inc, and Joe’s Older Than Dirt) and music from all of the local classic rock cover bands competing in this year’s 107.7 SFR Classic Rock Showdown (See below for band line-up). Admission will be free .
Those who choose to participate in the wing sampling will be able to vote on their favorites and help determine awards in multiple categories.
The event will also feature 107.7 SFR and Doo Wop Shop’s King of the 6-String Guitar Solo Contest searching for the area’s best lead guitar player at 3:15 PM and the Sharp Mart NFL End Zone football viewing area where attendees can keep up with NFL football games and win their own tailgating grill!
