Ultra-high end local retailer Glasscock Boutique will host a pop-up shop inside the Perry Room at Crowne Plaza Hotel on 830 Phillips Lane from the 18th through the 24th for those attending the World’s Championship Horse Show at the Kentucky State Fair across the street. The shop, open to the public as well as those of a more equestrian bent, will have pieces from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Zang Toi, among other esteemed fashion houses and designers.

Speaking of Zang Toi, the Malaysian-born, New York-based designer will host a trunk show Thursday and Friday during regular hours, featuring modernized, Imperial Russia-inspired pieces from his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. In years’ past, Toi’s looks have drawn from the 1960s, North Africa, and, via his current collection, the French Riviera. Celebrities known to wear Zang Toi – if not closing one of his fashion shows in a piece of his – include Kirstie Alley, Sharon Stone, and “Real Housewives of New York” alumnus Jill Zarin.

Toi, who was awarded the title of Datuk by King Abdul Halim of Malaysia this year, will debut his next collection under the tents of Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 in early September.

Glasscock Boutique’s pop-up shop at Crowne Plaza Hotel will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. inside the Perry Room on the ground floor of the upscale hotel.
