For those of you who love to shop online through Gilt – the New York City-based online retailer specializing in offering high-end designer apparel and accessories, home goods and more for up to 60 percent off retail every day – but always wanted to try on the dress or shoes of your dreams before buying, then your ship has come in.

Starting from June 28 through July 28, Gilt will open their first-ever designer pop-up outlet in Louisville at Shelbyville Road Plaza at 4600 Shelbyville Road. Throughout the month-long period, the city’s fashionistas will have the opportunity to peruse pieces from Zac Posen, Missoni, Scotch & Soda, and more, all up to 90 percent off retail. The online retailer, having already established a relationship with the city by establishing their largest distribution center in nearby Shepherdsville in 2010, is taking their relationship to the next level by selecting Louisville as the location of their first-ever pop-up outlet.

To celebrate the occasion, a private preview will be held for guests and media – including yours truly – the day before the outlet’s official public opening. Gilt has partnered with Greater Louisville Inc. for a special ribbon-cutting cutting ceremony to kick-off the festivities.

“GLI welcomes the first Gilt.com Designer Outlet to the Louisville business community,” said Greater Louisville Inc. CEO and President Craig J. Richard in a press release issued by the online retailer. “The exciting new concept store is a unique addition to our local retail market.”

The boutique, officially known as the Gilt.com Designer Outlet, will be open to the public beginning June 28 at 10 a.m. Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. The boutique will officially close at 6 p.m. July 28. For more information, you may follow Gilt through their Facebook page, as well as through Twitter and www.gilt.com.
