    Bit to Do

You Can Help Make Louisville More Bike-Friendly
    Print this page

Louisvillians who would love to see a more bike-friendly city continue to evolve have the chance to submit their opinion on how best to accomplish that to Metro Council Government, which now has an approved $300,000 budget for expanded bike facilities. The money should cover 28 miles of improvements.

Improvements already in place around the city:

    1. Bike markings at intersections to help bicyclists be detected at red lights
    2. “Bike May Use Full Lane” signs
    3. Three-Bike rack systems for TARC

New bike lanes will be concentrated in the Old Louisville and downtown areas. The Council is partnering with Bicycling for Louisville, and seeking public input on how best to complete the projects. Public meetings and an online survey will gather the input, and the compiled results will be reported back.

If you can’t make one of the public meetings below, make sure to take the short survey. Or you can do both.

    About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
