This Saturday, January 26, a historical ball will be held at Locust Grove from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Held in the Audubon Room auditorium in the Visitor’s Center, the ball will feature live music with dances called by Tom and Toni Tumbusch.
And?
Guests are encouraged to wear historic dress from any time period. *Any* time period. This means everyone from Jane Austen devotees to “Downton Abbey” fans can show up in their finest period garb and will receive a welcome that spans across the fashion centuries. (The thought of dressing in period costume ramps up my dramatic side. I apologize.) Not into period dress? Not a problem, modern clothing is welcome as well.
Are you eager to attend but anxious about not knowing how to dance? On Saturday at 1:00 p.m., there will be a practice session, free of charge, which will cover dances from the foxtrot to the Virginia reel.
Reservations are open now and are limited to the first 150 people. Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for Friends of Locust Grove (members) and guests aged 13 and under. All guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Refreshments will be available for sale, provided by Thomas Family Winery.
Since the weather still seems to be in question for this weekend, a snow date of February 3rd has already been set, just in case.
