Woodford Reserve has announced the release of the 2011 Kentucky Derby commemorative bottle featuring the artwork of Virginia native Brett Armory. The image captures the thrill of the Kentucky Derby, showcasing two horses dueling down the stretch to the finish. The horses and jockeys are the only real splashes of color on the bottle, looming in front of the understated twin spires, hushed in tones of brown and grey. Armory's signature is featured at the bottom of the label with information about him on the neck tag.

The limited edition liter-size bottle retails for $42.99 and will be available in 42 states early this month.

Woodford Reserve is also offering a Kentucky Derby Sweepstakes for a chance to win VIP tickets to the 2012 Kentucky Derby. Consumers can enter at www.WellCraftedDerby.com and registering the five-digit code found on the neck label of their bottle, or by entering any random five-digit number. Upon registration, entrants will receive an email randomly assigning them a Kentucky Derby post position from 1 to 20. If the Kentucky Derby winner breaks from your post position, you're entered into the grand prize drawing.

Early Times revealed their 2011 Kentucky Derby Mint Julep commemorative bottle earlier this year. After an artist search contest, Early Times selected the artwork of K. Marita Walizer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A former Louisville resident, Walizer paints a beautiful image of a traditional Derby scene--women in beautiful hats amidst a clubhouse view, toasting the day with a mint julep, while the horses are on the track below. As well as having her artwork featured on the bottle, Walizer receives $5,000 and a trip to the 2011 Kentucky Derby.

The limited edition bottle retails for $14.99 and is available in most area liquor stores.
