    It’s been your first full week back at work. It’s already dragging, isn’t it? Let’s be honest, it was dragging by 3 p.m. on a Monday as you were taking the Christmas lights off your cubicle and munching your “this-is-my-year!” healthy snack.     New Year's Auction at Floyd Street Stock Exchange
    The Floyd Street Stock Exchange is an auction house in Louisville, Kentucky, hosting once monthly absolute auctions, which are open to the public (welcoming first time auction goers!), and take place on the first Thursday of the month. Items available include vintage & antique furniture, decorative accessories, and architectural salvage from all over the globe. They are affiliated with a wholesale furniture importer based in Louisville, KY.

    Louisville Jug Music: From Earl McDonald to the National Jubilee
    Forged on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers during the nineteenth century, jug band music was the early soundtrack for a new nation. Louisville was at the heart of it all. German and Irish immigrants, former slaves en route to Chicago and homesteaders moving into the city created a fertile ground for this new sound.     Guy's Irish Red BBC Beer Tapped
    PNC Broadway in Louisville is thrilled to announce the creation of Bluegrass Brewing Company’s (BBC) Guy’s Irish Red – a beer to celebrate the upcoming production of ONCE playing The Kentucky Center January 20-25. Guy’s Irish Red, created by BBC Brewmaster Andrew Dimery, is brewed in the style of an Irish red with a nice malt background and a slight hop bitterness. Guy’s Irish Red will be tapped and available at the BBC St. Matthews and all other locations, on Friday, January 9th.

    A Birthday Party for Mary Ingalls: Celebrating National Braille Literacy Month
    "My sister Mary is the reason I am a writer," said Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the Little House books. Mary lost her sight at age fourteen, and Laura became her sister's eyes, describing the world so her sister could "see" as well. Find out about her richly rewarding life and the challenges she faced as a blind woman a hundred years ago. Sing along with some of Pa's fiddle tunes, weave a beaded bracelet (the same as those Mary made for her sisters), and enjoy birthday cake made from Ma's recipe.     The Tenderloins at Louisville Palace
