    The Mayor's Music and Art Series: Tyrone Cotton
    Held in the intimate setting of the Mayor’s Gallery Listening Room at historic Louisville Metro Hall, these monthly shows spotlight local musicians and artists. Performances are the first Thursday of the month, doors open at 11:30 a.m. with music starting at 12:10 p.m. and lasting about 45 minutes. All shows are free and open to the public, first come/first served. “Louisville has an international reputation for its music, performing and visual arts. We are creating a showcase for a diverse mix of performers and artists in the Mayor's Gallery which has great acoustics and comfortable seating.” - Mayor Greg Fischer Grab some great, local food for lunch and enjoy the show! Due to the historic nature of the Mayor’s Gallery, no outside drinks please. Louisville Pure Tap will be available at the performances.

    Rob O'Reilly at Comedy Caravan
    With appearances on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and on the Tonight Show as Jay Leno’s correspondent, Rob O’Reilly is quickly gaining a reputation as an up-and-coming comedian to watch. In fact, he was recently named one of LA Weekly’s Top 10 Comedy Acts to Watch in 2012 and one of Funny Or Die’s 30 Under 30: Comedians to Watch. With his youthful point-of-view making him a favorite at seven NACA conferences, Rob now headlines colleges across the country.

    Kentucky Flea Market at the Expo Center
    Stop by the Kentucky Expo Center starting July 3rd for one of the nation's finest flea markets. Dealers from across the country and over 600 booths will be present at this 4thof July Spectacular. Spread over four fantastic days – from Thursday, July 3rd to Sunday, July 6th – the flea market will include selections ranging anywhere from antiques and furniture to candles and bath and body to crafts and jewelry. Admission is free, so there is absolutely no excuse not to stop by! The hours are: Thursday, 12 – 6 p.m.; Friday, 10 – 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 – 5 p.m.

    Bourbon, Barbecue, and Music
    Spend this 4th of July with three American favorites – bourbon, barbeque and country music – at the Jim Beam® American Stillhouse! For this first event in the distillery’s Summer Concert Series, bourbon fans from all over are invited to celebrate our country’s independence with mouth-watering barbeque from Fred’s Smokehouse, live music on the distillery lawn and an inside look at how the world’s No. 1 selling bourbon whiskey is made. (Samples of “America’s Native Spirit” will be poured for guests of legal drinking age.) The festivities kick off at noon, and country singer Rob Key will be performing throughout the day. Special raffle drawings will take place every half hour, awarding guests the chance to win free distillery tours and branded Jim Beam® apparel. Guided distillery tours depart at noon.

    Squallis Puppeteers Present Namethatwhatsit at the HCC
    Get up out of the house with the kids and join us for NAMETHATWHATSIT. This fun and interactive puppet show invites members of the audience to be contestants in the game show. They will then have to guess which special guest puppet is behind the hidden curtain.. Stay after the show to make a critter to take home in our puppet-making workshop.

    Artrepreneurs at Schneider Hall

    Sunday, July 6th is the last day of the Artrepreneurs exhibit at the University of Louisville Hite Art Institute. The first half of the twentieth century in Louisville included incredibly innovative women artists who helped lead the city's changing culture. Initiated as a UofL class project, Artrepreneurs examines the individual creative work of several of these artists, featuring their paintings, prints, and textiles. The collection opened on May 30 and has now reached the end of its run. If you haven't been by to see it yet, now is your last chance. It's not to be missed!

    Shakespeare in the Park Presents Henry V
    Shakespeare in the Park presents Henry V as part of their 2014 Summer Season. The show, directed by Amy Attaway, runs from June 27 through July 6, with a preview night June 26. The pre-show entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m., and the play begins promptly at 8 p.m. Stop by Central Park in Old Louisville for a taste of Shakespeare to satisfy your hunger for the arts. This Sunday is the last regularly scheduled showing; check the Kentucky Shakespeare calendar for future shows.

    Derby City Rovers Game at the Woehrle Athletic Complex

    New Edition Playing at the Yum! Center
    R&B and pop music group New Edition will return to the KFC Yum! Center on July 6 for an evening filled with hit music that is sure to keep the crowd on its feet. The group is regarded as the progenitors of the boy band movement of the 1980s and 1990s and led the way for groups like New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys and 'NSync.
