Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at the Louisville Palace
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' 2014 tour continues with a stop at the Louisville Palace on June 16th. The group is an Australian alternative rock band that was formed in Melbourne in 1983 by frontman Nick Cave, multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey and guitarist Blixa Bargeld. The band has featured international personnel throughout its career and presently consists of Cave, violinist and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn P. Casey (all Australia), keyboard player Barry Adamson (United Kingdom) and percussionist Jim Sclavunos (United States). The band has released fifteen studio albums and completed numerous international tours. They will be featuring Warpaint, a Los Angeles quartet dealing in sparse, atmospheric art rock.

In May of 2013, the Louisville Independent Business Alliance teamed up with Metro government, leaders from the Southwest Dream Team and the South Louisville Business Association to launch the 'keep South Louisville weird' campaign, which is much more than just a slogan.Now, the group is hosting an event where independent business owners are invited to learn more about South Louisville. Presenters will include Councilwoman Vicki Welch, Barbara Nichols of the South Louisville Business Association, Vince Jarboe of the Southwest Dream Team, Bennett Knox of the South Points Scenic Area and Jefferson Memorial Forest, and Doug Lowry, involved citizen.

Jake Bugg is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. His self-titled debut album, largely co-written with songwriter Iain Archer, was released in late 2012 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. His second album, Shangri La, was released in November 2013. His main influences are Don McLean, Donovan, The Beatles, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, and Nick Drake.

Kid Craft Workshop
The Conrad-Caldwell House is hosting A Day in the Life, a kids summer craft workshop. We'll read books from the Victorian era and make crafts that children who grew up in Victorian Louisville might have done in their own summer vacations.
