    WorldFest 2016

    WorldFest, one of the region’s largest international festivals, celebrates its 14th anniversary with four days of expanded world food, music, dance, culture and education this Labor Day weekend.

    "Cities that embrace and encourage their international citizens and cultures will thrive, have a stronger quality of life and will attract new growth and jobs,” Mayor Greg Fischer said. 'WorldFest is a great event for exploring and celebrating Louisville’s many faces and cultures and we always look to make it more vibrant, diverse and educational. So, it’s exciting to add many new features and attractions for the 14th Annual WorldFest.”

    PRFBBQ Rock and Roll Rager 

    The PRFBBQ is happening this week in Louisville! It will take place over four days, from September 1-4, at three different venues with over 60 bands. On Friday, it's the Rock and Roll Rager at Mag Bar! Get ready for a non-stop rush of intense and in-your-face noise rock, sludge, stoner rock and thrash punk from all over the mid-west.     The Flea Off Market

    Home to over 200 artists, craftspeople, collectors, start-ups and local businesses of all kinds, The Flea is one of Louisville's favorite places to shop local. Flea patrons can expect to find used books, records, fine arts and crafts, antiques, jewelry, vintage clothing, bath and body products, candles, furniture and homewares, used tools, terrariums, fresh-cut flowers, organic produce and meat, bicycles, tarot readings...there's kinda everything under the sun. We also offer a great lineup of food and entertainment including live theater, live music, dozens of food trucks, and a bar with seasonal cocktails and a selection of local craft beers.

    Who Me? Fresh Art by Tad DeSanto Opening Reception at Craft[s] Gallery

    Join us this weekend for the opening reception for a new exhibit at Craft[s] Gallery, Who Me? Fresh Art by Tad DeSanto. DeSanto uses oil sticks and his fingers to paint on wood or Masonite, often including a variety of other materials. HIs work has been received with enthusiasm and is open to an array of interpretations. His work will be on display from September 2-29.

    Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown Play at Zanzabar

    Like usual, Z-bar has some exciting live shows this weekend. Come out on Friday to see Nashville rock and roll band Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown perform, along with Johnny Conquerro and Otis.

    Days of the Dead

    This gothic by-the-fans, for-the-fans convention is coming to Louisville! Days of the Dead rejects the idea of an impersonal, autograph-fueled convention and instead invites like-minded friends and fans to this welcoming 'social gathering.' Full of special events, horror-themed parties and several of the hottest celebrity guests and artists, Days of the Dead promises to be the gothic horror convention you've always wanted.

    JD Shelburne Plays at Baxter's 942

    One of our most talented local musicians is playing at Baxter's! At age 19, Taylorsville-native JD Shelburne taught himself how to play guitar and sing, and now he's one of Kentucky's fastest-rising country stars. He's performed with over 40 national acts and at venues like the Yum! Center, Freedom Hall and Churchill Downs. But this Friday, the show is free, so make sure you don't miss this chance!

    Andy Woodhull at Comedy Caravan

    Andy Woodhull was the first comedian to make his network television debut on the Tonight Show: Starring Jimmy Fallon. Since then, he's appeared on other network shows and at comedy festivals and contests across the country, and his album "Lucy" was named in the top 10 comedy albums of the year. Come out to see him perform at the Laughing Derby.

    Grind Burger Kitchen Presents Barks 'n' Burgers

    DeaFestival 2016

    DeaFestival is the state’s only day-long celebration of deaf and hard of hearing art, language and culture. More than 50 visual and performing artists will combine to make DeaFestival 2016 a community, family-friendly day to remember. “You’ve Always Had the Power Within You” is the theme of the 12th biennial Festival, hosted by the Knowledge Center on Deafness and the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the past 20 years. The theme will be woven through the three performance programs beginning with the Children’s Program, featuring interactive storytelling, followed by Spotlights, a showcase for theatrical performers, dancers and comedians. Jam Tent will round out the day with the top deaf and hard of hearing hip hop and rock ‘n’ roll musicians in the nation.

    Fleur de Flea

    Louisville's finest outdoor vintage urban market. Located on the Waterfront Plaza with the scenic Ohio River in the background, locals and tourists who visit will be glad they did. Over 150 vendors from all over Kentuckiana are selling their unique goods, including vintage clothing, books, records, primitives, antiques, repurposed, recycled, collectibles and so much more. You never know what you might find at the Fleur de Flea! This is the last one until spring of 2017, so don't miss out!

    Kentucky Bluegrass & Bourbon Experience

    For years, this is how Louisville has celebrated the last days of summer.     Pollywog Play Parties: Behaving Like Bugs and Bees

    Float like a butterfly, buzz like a bee – this pollywog bunch is a sight to see! Early learners will explore the amazing life of insects and their relatives by meeting live critters, going on an insect safari, dressing like a bug, and much more. Pollywog Play Parties offers a unique learning experience for children under the age of 5 to connect with nature. Each play party includes a song and story circle, outdoor exploration, and various art projects, science investigations,role-playing challenges and opportunities for play.

    Improv Anonymous: Do or Do Not

    Belle of Louisville Moonlight/Moonshine Cruise

    Actors Theatre Presents The 39 Steps

    Four brilliant comic actors. Dozens of characters. One thrilling, hilarious noir adventure. Inspired by Hitchcock’s iconic film and the classic spy novel, this Broadway hit plunges you into the world of Richard Hannay, an ordinary man forced to go on the run after aiding a mysterious woman. From the shadowy streets of 1930s London to the wild moors of Scotland and beyond, The 39 Steps traces Richard’s madcap quest to keep government secrets out of the wrong hands. The show runs through September 18.

    Old Louisville Live: The NouLou Chamber Players

    Old Louisville Neighborhood Council is proud to announce Old Louisville Live, a new performing arts series coming to Central Park. Powered by the Old Louisville Neighborhood Council, Old Louisville Live will take place at the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheater this Sunday, featuring the NouLou Chamber Players, an exciting new ensemble bringing together Louisville’s elite classical musicians to provide exceptional music making.

    Kentucky Center for African American Heritage Presents: An Explosion of Jazz and Soul
