    The New Vintage's Last Weekend

    With their closing at the end of January, The New Vintage is celebrating their last weekend with four days of awesome music. Thursday through Sunday, come out to hear a variety of great bands. The times and costs vary, but some are free! Check out the link below for more details. Bid adieu to a Louisville staple with one last hurrah.

    FRIDAY

    Trivia Night | Boys and Girls Haven

    It's time for the 3rd Annual Trivia Night, hosted by and benefiting the Boys and Girls Haven! This Friday, compete in eight different categories to see whose team can win the most. You can bring friends or come alone, but teams can consist of no more than eight people. There will be popcorn and other snacks available to buy, as well as beer, but you're welcome to bring your own food.

    Great Good Fine Ok | Zanzabar

    Brooklyn synthpop duo Great Good Fine Ok met one evening in 2013 and by the next morning had written their first song together, “You’re the One for Me.” This gauzy, heart-thumping anthem hit #1 on Hype Machine twice in one month. Is it possible to be nostalgic for the future? Come out to Z-bar this Friday for some retrofuturism.

    Zmaj Absinthe Launch Party with Squallis Puppeteers | Copper & Kings

    Copper & Kings is proud to partner with Squallis Puppeteers for the launch of their new, limited release Serbian Juniper Barrel-Aged Absinthe Superior. There will be a tour, tastings, a cash bar and Squallis Puppeteers will present the legend of the Balkan folkloric dragon Zmaj.

    Offstage at Actors: Circle Mirror Transformation | Actors Theatre

    Come out for a free pre-show reception sponsored by Yelp Louisville in Actors Theatre's lobby. There will be entertainment and free treats from Art Eatables, The Arctic Scoop and City Barbeque. Then there will be a performance of “Circle Mirror Transformation” at 8 p.m. In Actors Theatre's latest production, set in a community center acting class, real-life drama hides beneath imaginative — and sometimes awkward — theater games.

    The Flat Five | Lola

    Come out for a night at Louisville's premiere lounge and bar with the Flat Five. This Chicago-based pop vocal group is made up of five in-demand musicians who individually spend much of their time touring and recording with bands like NRBQ, The Decemberists, Andrew Bird, Iron and Wine and many other heavy hitters. Despite their busy schedules, these shameless harmony junkies consistently come together to make music as The Flat Five.

    Live Music Friday with Mike Hood | Goodwood Brewing

    The Kentucky Opera's Carnevale | Louisville Marriott Downtown

    Kentucky Opera’s 2017 black-tie gala Carnevale will be filled with vibrant colors, heavenly drinks, delicious food and an evening of memorable experiences. Kentucky Opera is partnering with CirqueLouis, Jecorey Arthur (1200) plus additional local talent, to make this a night to remember for years to come! After the event, the after party kicks off with DJ Garrett Crabtree and a laser light show.

    Flat12 Anniversary Beer Festival | Flat12 Bierwerks

    Flat12 Bierwerks is celebrating six years of brewing in Indiana and two years at their southern home in Jeffersonville. To mark the milestone and thank their supporters, they're inviting their partners and loyal customers to the Jeffersonville taproom for another epic Anniversary Party Beer Festival. The festival will feature more than 30+ beers and live music from the 502 String Band from 4-6 p.m.

    Kickoff Party for the Imagination Library of Louisville | LFPL Main Branch

    Dolly Parton's Imagination Library seeks to provide children with a new, free book every month, and now it's coming to Louisville! The kickoff event for the Imagination Library of Louisville is this Saturday at the Louisville Free Public Library. Kids from anywhere in Jefferson County are invited to enjoy story time, crafts, a snack and free books.

    Yang Kee Noodle's Chinese New Year Celebration

    On Saturday, the Louisville Lion Dance Team will perform live at the Highlands Yang Kee Noodle to celebrate Chinese New Year! The Louisville Lion Dance Team is known locally for bringing Chinese traditional dance to life. It is a time-honored belief that a lion dance will bring about good luck and fortune while fending off evil spirits.

    Saxophone Sunday | UofL School of Music

    Come out to the University of Louisville's School of Music for a day full of the best saxes around. Saxophone Sunday will include performances by Mike Tracy, one of America's foremost jazz educators, with the Brazilian Ensemble at 1 p.m., the University Saxophone Ensemble at 3 p.m., UofL's Artist Teacher of Saxophone Adam McCord at 5 p.m. and the award-winning Kenari Quartet at 8 p.m. All performances will be in Comstock Recital Hall, with the exception of Mike Tracy in Bird Recital Hall.

    Orchestra Enigmatic | 21c Louisville

    21c Museum Hotel Louisville is pleased to present a series of live musical performances in collaboration with Louisville’s ultramodern Orchestra Enigmatic.     Sunday Puppetry Arts with Squallis Puppeteers

    SPA (Sunday Puppetry Arts) Workshops are a way for the community to get involved with Squallis Puppeteers. This Sunday, Squallis will be getting ready for their annual Puppet Prom event. Come lend a hand preparing decorations and materials for workshops and maybe even sign up to volunteer the day of the event. Kids are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
