This Saturday, Aug. 28 at 9:00 a.m., the Metro United Way is teaming up with UPS for the Walk United for a Stronger Community at the University of Louisville Shelby Campus, 9001 Shelbyville Road. It’s a great chance to help make a difference here in our own  community.

Louisville Metro United Way supports almost 90 agencies and programs that assist those of us who need help today. We also work to create and support long-term solutions. By focusing on the areas of education, income and health, they’re building a brighter future for us all! As Jillian Himmelhaver, Donor Relationship Manager for UW said, “The Metro United Way UPS Walk United is our official kickoff event for our 2010 Community Campaign, an opportunity to help build a stronger community, and a great way to enjoy time with family and friends.”

For a $15 early registration fee and $20 late (day of) registration fee, participants will receive a Walk Live United t-shirt, goodie bags and more. Proceeds go to benefit the many local agencies that United Way supports.

Grab your friends, family and co-workers and head on out to Shelby Campus this weekend to help support a great community cause!
