Copper & Kings will host the 3rd Annual Butchertown Porktoberfest on Friday, October 9, from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Admission is $2 and covers your first taste. So come out and try tons of delicious, local pork cooked and prepared to perfection. Don’t worry, vegetarian options will also be available — there’s even an award for the best one! Did I mention desserts will be sampled, too? Because they most definitely will be!

Royals Hot Chicken, Red Hog Tapas and Commonwealth Cure will give us a preview of their soon-to-open restaurant’s deliciousness. Louisville favorites, The Feast, Gralehaus, Rye, Galaxie, Toonerville Deli and Wiltshire will remind us why they’re just that—favorites. That's a ridiculous lineup of ridiculously tasty eats, both savory and sweet.

The evening wouldn’t be complete without something to wash down all that food with. Copper & Kings will mix cocktails, while Apocalypse Brew Works pours the brew. And with sight, touch and taste all covered by the eats, and to make sure no sensory organ’s left out, Relic’s bluegrass twang will tingle our ears.

The 2015 award categories are the same as 2014’s. Tasters vote for People’s Choice, Best Vegetarian, Most Creative and Best Dessert. A panel of judges selects Best Overall Pork. Winners can expect to receive a unique Porktoberfest trophy to show off in their restaurant. All proceeds from food and beverage tickets will benefit the Butchertown Neighborhood Association Inc.

    Winners of Porktoberfest 2014
Best Overall Pork & People’s Choice: Gralehaus
Most Creative & Best Dessert: Feast BBQ
    Best Vegetarian: Wiltshire
    Best Pork: Holy Grale
