You could be cheap this Valentine's Day. What? You could! You could spend the evening watching Netflix or a Redbox movie together, eating ramen and drinking cheap wine from Trader Joe's. But do you think your girlfriend or boyfriend will gather his or her friends around themselves at school or the office next day and breathlessly explain that ramen and tv dinner Valentine's day? Do you think he or she will write about it on their blog, post about it on facebook, call their mother and tell her what an amazing paramour you are? OF COURSE NOT. Valentine's Day is a day when even low key couples do it up right. Valentine's Day is a day to suck it up, fork it out, and spend $100.00 for a mind blowingly awesome meal for two from Asiatique on Bardstown road. Asiatique is known for their delicious Asian fusion, and where better to treat your special someone on this special day?

The menu is available here, but skimming it will make you hungry. You could start with a pickled Asian pear salad with feta cheese, hoisin and balsamic vinaigrette, and follow up with a goat cheese and crab meat spring roll with spicy miso aioli. There are too many main course choices to post here, but two that stand out are slow braised lamb shank with risotto, and honey roasted duck with curried red lentil, pickled veggies, persimmon and ginger sauce. For dessert you could sample the ever popular flourless chocolate torte with Belgian dark chocolate, berry compote and bourbon crème anglais, or a mole cake with butter cream, peppercorn caramel and coconut ice cream.

Dinner service is from 5 to 11 pm on Valentine's Day and please make sure you make your reservation. Also, as with all special dinner I have seen in town, remember that tip is not included and spare a nice tip for your hardworking server. Happy Valentine's Day!
