However you felt about the late (kind of lamented) Lynn's Paradise Cafe, there's no doubt they did a lot of business, and where is all that business going? Lynn's was particularly well known for their brunch; and lucky for Louisville there are many places to go instead!
Cafe Beignet
Cafe Beignet is the most obvious choice to replace Lynn's because it's closest to where Lynn's used to be, at 1310 Winter Avenue . Cafe Beignet and The Fish House are two restaurants under the same roof, and they serve equally marvelous food. Cafe Beignet has a different flavor of beignet every week (some past favorites: blueberry, rocky road, butterfinger) as well as amazing sausages, fried fish, mac n' cheese, wicked delicious fried oysters—and it's CHEAP. The volume of delicious food you get super inexpensively is gobsmacking.
The Village Anchor
Three words: red velvet pancakes. The Village Anchor's (at 11507 Park Road) brunch is legendary and ambrosial. If I could start every morning with an order of their bleu cheese biscuits and a BLT blood mary with candied Anchor bacon I would be a much happier lady. The Village Anchor is a little on the pricier side, but the atmosphere and service is far superior to Lynn's. During the warmer months there is seating on the patio. I highly recommend subscribing the the Anchor's emails here, they are witty and often contain information about specials on things like their giant and heavenly mimosas!
The Goose Creek Diner
If you went to Lynn's Paradise Cafe for Southern comfort food, you've been missing out on cheaper, more delicious, more authentic comfort food elsewhere. The Goose Creek Diner at 2923 Goose Creek Road is an often overlooked mecca of all things cooking in bacon grease with real butter. Goose Creek has a great breakfast menu, and an even greater Sunday brunch buffet. They offer made to order omelets, crepes and stuffed french toast, baby back ribs, biscuits and gravy, and much more for only $11.99 per adult, with early bird pricing from 9am to 11am for $9.99!
Make sure you keep that brunch money going to support local restaurants!
