Celebrate the culinary scene that earned Louisville a spot in Forbes Traveler's 2009 list of America's top 10 restaurant cities at tonight's Taste of Louisville.

Local restaurants, distilleries (kentucky apparently has some good ones) and caterers will be offering up the best and latest in food and drink from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport (830 Phillips Lane). Tickets are $55.

This year the event is honoring its founders, Al J. Schneider and Paul Luersen.

There'll also be a silent auction with the usual items up for bid (restaurant and hotel gift certificates, rounds of golf, gift baskets).

Since the first Taste of Louisville in 1973 the event has raised more than $572,000 for charities.

Proceeds this year benefit the Metro United Way and the Kentucky Restaurant Association's ServSafe Program.
