UPDATE: As shown by Live Nation's website, Prince will be playing The Louisville Palace this Saturday. The show sold out in just a few minutes. Then he added a second show that night to start at 11 p.m. That show is also already sold out. Ticket prices ranged from $97-$275.

Prince does what he wants and how he wants to do it. That's obvious by his announcement today.

Prince has announced a show in Louisville...next week. He and his band 3RDEYEGIRL will play in Louisville March 14 on the first U.S. date of their Hit & Run Tour.

This show was announced spontaneously like his shows in the UK were announced last year. The venue has not yet been announced. This writer can assume the only two venues that would fit a Prince crowd would be the KFC Yum! Center and Waterfront Park, but who really knows. Prince will play in the middle of Bardstown Road if he wants to.

Hannah Welton, who is the 3RDEYEGIRL drummer, is a native of Louisville and a graduate of the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, the group whose Led Zeppelin medley video went viral after Jimmy Page posted it on his Facebook page.

Tickets will go on sale this Monday March 9 at 10 a.m. on LiveNation.com.
