Jesus Christ Superstar tells the well-known Biblical story of Jesus's final days, including being betrayed by one of his followers and being nailed to the cross.  His faith is neverending, however, and that faith leads to countless other followers.

Andrew Lloyd Webber created the music for Jesus Christ Superstar, and Tim Rice created the lyrics.  The rock musical landed on Broadway at the Mark Hellinger Theatre from 1971-1973.  It subsequently was revived on Broadway twice, most recently in 2000.

The Derby Dinner cast for Jesus Christ Superstar's run includes Brett Travis as Jesus, Kendra Payne as Mary Magdalene, Nir Chalamish as Judas, John Payonk as Pilate, and Liam O'Daniel-Munger as Caiaphas.  Lee Buckholz directed the production, Megan Bliss was choreographer, and Scott Bradley provided musical direction.

During Jesus Christ Superstar's run, Derby Dinnery Playhouse will present Alexander, Who's Not, Not, Not, Not, Not, Not Going to Move.  The children's theatre production will run on Saturdays from Feb. 26-March 26.  More information on the show can be found at the Derby Dinner Playhouse website.
