For the past five years, Sundy Best, a country duo that started in Prestonburg, Kentucky and is now based in Lexington, has toured constantly, playing clubs, festivals, colleges, and anywhere else that will have them. For a band that plays so many shows, it is not shocking they would want to release live songs on an album, but the real news for Louisville is that they want to record a show in town.
Last night during a concert at Fourth Street Live singer and guitarist Nick Jamerson announced that the group will be return to Louisville for show on October 30-31 at Mercury Ballroom. They will release tracks from these shows for a live album.
The concerts have not been officially announced by the venue or the band's website. It is unclear if the live album will take tracks from both nights, but Louisville should be in for something special. An added bonus is that one of the concerts takes place on Halloween giving Sundy Best the opportunity to take part in the Halloween tradition of covering a few songs from a band of their choice.
If you want to see Sundy Best in action before their Halloween shows, you can make the short trip to Lexington on September 5 where they will be performing in the parking lot of the newly renovated Commonwealth Stadium for the first game of the University of Kentucky's football season. Show time is 4 p.m.
