    Independent filmmakers, get your shorts and features ready! Submissions are now being accepted for the third annual Derby City Film Festival.

    The Derby City Film Festival is set to take place February 18-20, 2011, and will feature independent films, which can be submitted between now through November 1. The film festival lineup will be announced around January 1, and the festival will take place in the Clifton Center.

    Those interested in submitting films will have a choice of 12 categories in which to submit, including US Short, Documentary Short, Animation Short, International Short, Experimental Short, Student Short, US Short Feature, International Short Feature, Documentary Feature, US Feature, International Feature, and Animation Feature.

    At the last festival, 48 films were chosen to be screened out of more than 300 submitted pieces. Among those, 21 movies had their American premieres, and five works were from Kentucky-based filmmakers.
