Louisville 48 Hour Film Project Winners announced at awards ceremony

Louisville's 48 Hour Film Project has wrapped for 2013. The festival and competition ended with a screening of the award winning films on Saturday, August 10. I was lucky enough to sit on the judge's panel this year and then host the awards ceremonies: an experience that leaves me impressed with the amount of talent hiding in Louisville.

The films were screened at Village 8 Theaters at 7 and 9 p.m. Over 150 locals turned out to see the local work.  Several of the actors from some of the films helped me by presenting some of the awards. I thought the funniest moment of presenting was being joined by a group of actors and a puppet, who were from the short film "Treycation." The actors turned and blamed the puppet for being disqualified from awards. The winner of "Best Film" was Death's Apprentice by Team! Team! They will go on to represent Louisville at the international festival Filmapalooza. The film will be judged alongside films from over 122 cities worldwide.
