    Straightup Bluegrass At Haymarket

Louisville.com brought you the story of Beardforce Films in January when documentary filmmaker Eric Byford was in town shooting scenes for his upcoming documentary about Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey. Byford has shot much of the footage for the film already, but the slow and tedious work of editing and production is still ahead of him. He’s trying to crowdfund for the film’s production costs, and now there will be a fundraiser to help.

Wednesday, July 22 at Haymarket Whiskey Bar, Hickory Vaught, Bernie Lubbers, Jeffrey Faith and others will be playing bluegrass music, and Haymarket will donate a dollar from every drink to the cause. Byford and Beardforce Films are in the home stretch, and they need capital to keep the project moving forward.

Byford got into the filmmaking business after a series of career changes landed him in film school. He had studied broadcast journalism in college but diverged from that path. After the success of his first film (at a whopping ten awards to date) about Tennessee Whiskey, Byford decided to explore the growing popularity of bourbon.

Join the filmmaker for an evening of bourbon-related fun on July 22 to help raise money to finish production of what is sure to be a substantial and significant film about Kentucky’s native spirit. Even if you can’t attend, any merchandise or film purchases from the Beardforce Films website are sure to help. Learn more about this event on the Facebook event page. Hope to see you there!
