As if you didn't already know, Thunder Over Louisville is the largest fireworks display in America, and the much-anticipated kickoff to the Derby Festival. This year's Thunder Over Louisville is happening on Saturday, April 18, 2015. This year's theme is "Boom with a View."

This year's air show will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and parachute team. A more comprehensive schedule of events will be released closer to April 18, but until then here's a refresher about the rules and regulations to which attendees must adhere, as well as "tips and tricks for survival." You'll be able to pick up the official Thunder program in the Courier-Journal on Sunday, April 12, which will have a Thunder map and a show schedule. The LMPD will have a traffic plan in place, but it's safe to say you will be stuck in several hours of traffic leaving Thunder whatever precautions you take, so make plans to stay hydrated.
