Are you a ‘90s kid? Stop what you are doing and watch Louisville hip hop group Skyscraper Stereo’s new video for “Ya Boy Gets Right.”

The video will run you down memory lane with shouts to Saved By The Bell, Double Dare 2000, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman,” Nintendo, WWF, and more. All those pieces of pop culture history are not out of place though.

The song itself has a whimsical beat (I’m thinking Carlton dancing) and the chorus is innocent and fun. The instrumentation harkens back to a time where rock and hip hop were so closely linked. The video is over five minutes long, but you must stick around for the amazing, screeching guitar solo at the end.

Be sure to check out Skyscraper Stereo at Headliners Music Hall on December 19 performing with JaLin Roze, Bird Zoo, 1200, and Dr. Dundiff. Some might want to call it a show filled with the best hip hop in the city. The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $12.
