The number one seed in the Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational tournament not only took home the championship trophy, but did it in a dominating fashion. The Trinity Shamrocks were crowned LIT champs after overwhelming Moore high school 74-57 last night at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.
Shamrocks were led by senior Nathan Dieudonne and junior James Quick who scored 15 points apiece. Junior Darryl Hicks chipped in 12 points and was named the tournament's most valuable player. William Bryant had 21 points and 8 rebounds in a losing effort for the Mustangs.
Four games equaled four blowouts for Trinity, as they won by an average of 27.5 points. This was the third LIT championship for Trinity, as they won it in 2010 and 2005. Trinity is now 15-2 and unbeaten in Kentucky. The Shamrocks are back in action at home Tuesday versus Franklin County.
