Kids dressed in holiday attire – check. Kids loaded into the car – check. Kids arrive at the mall to see Santa – check. Kids sit on Santa’s lap and smile for the camera – well, maybe. The end result is a little unpredictable, but as the shopping season kicks into full swing, so does the tradition of pictures with Santa.
The only thing worse than long lines and cranky kids is arriving at your destination full of anticipation to see the big man in red only to find out he sneaked off to get some cookies and milk. Try explaining that to a toddler. Luckily, this can be avoided by taking note of Santa’s hours at all Kentuckiana shopping malls.
Santa will be visiting with all the good little boys and girls near Mall St. Matthews Center Court in front of Abercrombie & Fitch and Pottery Barn. Plan to visit Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Make your list and check it twice, then stop by the Von Maur wing at Oxmoor to talk with Santa. He’ll be waiting for you Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bring the whole family to The Summit for a complimentary sleigh ride with Santa and receive a free photograph capturing the holiday magic. Each child will also receive a holiday goody from Santa. Rides begin and end in front of Ann Taylor Loft on November 22-23 and 28-30, December 6-7, 11-14 and 18-21, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Stop by Center Court at Greentree Mall to see jolly ‘ol St. Nick and receive a free gift. He steps away from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Monday thru Saturday; 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday and from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

“Children” of the four-legged variety have wish lists too! Capture your pet’s personality and help animals in need at the 21st Annual “Picture Your Pets with Santa.” This event takes place the first two weekends in December at all Feeders Supply locations. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6 and Saturday, December 13; Noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 7 and Sunday, December 14. Same-day professional photo packages of your pets with Santa, along with gift items featuring your pet’s photo are available.
