Online registration for the Rodes City Run 10K, the second leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running series, ends at midnight Saturday.
After that registration will only be available the day before, and the day of, next Saturday’s race in downtown Louisville.
Online registration can be done here. The early entry fee is $30, plus the active.com fee.
Following Saturday’s deadline individuals will still have two chances to register, although it will cost more to do so. Late registration (at a cost of $45) will be available at Rodes City Run Late Registration/Packet Pickup from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. next Friday at Louisville Slugger Field and from 6-7:30 p.m. next Saturday (at a cost of $60) at the Fifth Street Parking Garage.
Construction work on the Ohio River Bridges Project will affect the course of the Run for the second straight year. The event will feature the same course as it did in 2014 with the race starting and finishing near First and Broadway. The runners will race out Broadway, to Grinstead Drive, around Cave Hill Cemetery and down Lexington Road before returning up Broadway.
The Rodes City Run, which is in its 35th year, is the 11th largest 10K in the nation, according to the 2011 USATF ranking. It donated $47,000 to the WHAS Crusade for Children in 2014 and the entire Triple Crown series donated over $142,000 last year. Since 2002 the Triple Crown series has donated almost $1.4 million to the Crusade.
Elijah Karanja is the reigning Rodes Run men’s champion, while Ludmila Stepanova is the defending women’s champ.
