Event: EcoKids: Be A Cool Reader
Date: Saturday, January 30th, 1-4 pm
Place: Bernheim Forest Visitor Center
Each hour from 1-3 pm, Bernheim naturalists are meeting at the Visitor Center to read a nature inspired book to children. The story hours serve as reminder to children of the importance of going outside, even on a cold day. The story hours are best for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade and all kids get a free nature-inspired bookmark. There is no cost for the story hour.
Event: Discovering the Joys of Trees in the Winter
Date: Saturday, January 30th, 2010, 1:30 pm- 3:30 pm
Place: Bernheim Forest Education Center
For the budding dendrologists, this program offers winter tree identification tips while giving children cool information on intriguing tree lore. The price is $7 for members and $10 for non-members and advanced registration is required. Contact Bernheim at 955-8512 to register or for more information.
